Tri-State Adjustments’ Vice President Rhonda Helgeson was recently featured in the October 1 issue of the BizTimes, one of southeastern Wisconsin’s leading business publications.
“Living on the ‘cutting’ edge” documents Helegson’s passion as a competitive cutting contestant. The article notes how Helgeson can “rein her American quarter horse, Lyddie, to wrangle a cow in a matter of minutes.”
“Ever since I was a kid, I’ve loved horses, and I just love taking care of them,” Helgeson said. “I love riding them. I just enjoy the whole thing.”
An organic farm resident of Coon Valley, Wis., Helgeson lives with her two sons, husband and farm animals. And though she has been riding since age 3, Helgeson’s interest in cutting hadn’t manifested itself until four years ago.
According to Helgeson, it was son Jake who introduced her to the world of competitive cutting. She has since joined the American Quarter Horse Association and the National Cutting Horse Association.
Why the interest in competitive cutting?
“I am a competitive person and thrive on pushing my riding abilities to do better each time,” Helgeson said.
